 A mysterious man: Jay Gatsby

 

The man in the picture, Jay Gatsby, has been subject of great variety of improper speculations. This Mr. Gatsby has in his possession a colossal mansion with an enormous garden and a fancy pool, which has made people believe he is secretly a smuggler. Another fact that has supported this belief is that he is almost never seen, though the police has been investigating and it hasn’t been proven.

The only times this individual has been seen is when he stands at night on his dock, looking distantly at Tom Buchanan’s mansion. This has also brought people to theorize that he is planning something towards the house, maybe a robbery or even smuggling with the Buchanans. Everyone in New York knows Tom Buchanan has a mistress, so people also believe Jay Gatsby takes advantage of the time Mr. Buchanan is absent to get into his house and steal, smuggle with someone, or even meet with Daisy Buchanan (Mr. Buchanans wife) in secret.

None of these theories have been demonstrated, but Jay Gatsby still represents a mysterious enigma to everybody.
